History of Reserve Group Limburg

 

Reservistenkameradschaft (RK) Limburg {Reserve Group LIMBURG} is a regional part of Verband der Reservisten der Deutschen Bundeswehr e.V. (VdRBw) [Assosiation of Reservists of the German Armed Forces inc.] located in Limburg-Weilburg county. At present the membership rate is up to more than 320 people, mostly reservists of all ranks from every branch of the armed forces, including even so-called supporting members who never spent time in the service.

In 1966 the reservists of Limburg-Weilburg founded an association named Kreisgruppe Limburg-Weilburg [District Group Limburg-Weilburg]. It belonged to the Verteidigungs-bezirkskommando 43 (VBK) [Military Region Command 43, witch is a Brigade] in Wiesbaden which was transferred to Darmstadt later on.

In 1970 the Regional Group Limburg-Weilburg was renamed to Reservistenkameradschaft Limburg-Weilburg [Reserve Group Limburg-Weilburg]. That year marks the official establishment of today´s Reserve Group LIMBURG. A second renaming took place in 1975 and the official name has been Reservistenkameradschaft Limburg ever since.

After some changes of county borders within Hesse and a reform of the Territorial Army, Reserve Group Limburg belongs to the Assosiation of Reservist of the German Armed Forces Kreisgruppe Hessen-Nassau [District Group HESSEN-NASSAU] since 1982. To the Homepage of Military Region Command 47In case of military assuming Reserve Group LIMBURG changed from VBK 43 in Darmstadt to Verteidigungskreiskommando 471 (VKK) [Military Subregion Command 471, witch is a Regiment] in Marburg (in 1982) and to VBK 47 located in Gießen since October 1st, 1993.

The care was examined till 1999 by the FwRes HptFw Kleinke in Giessen. From 1999 by StFw Piorr in Kemel and from 2001 by StFw Wolf first still from Kemel, then his seat was moved to Diez in the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Kaserne. From 2002 the name is "Feldwebel für Reservisten Limburg/Diez" on Schloß Oranienstein in Diez. Within the scope of the changing of the Territiorial military organisation the VBK 47 was dissolved in 2007, and as new deployment as Landeskommando Hessen at Wiesbaden.

The District Group Hessen-Nassau has melted with decision of the of a district delegate meeting from the 10.11.2001 with the District Group Rheingau-Taunus to the new group Rheingau-Hessen-Nassau. In the organisational structure of the VdRBw she belongs as an other group of a circle of the district group Giessen within the land group Hessen. The of a circle business place is in Wetzlar.

Within the scope of the structural change in 2004/2005 of the land group Hessen, the district groups are dissolved and the Regional Group are changed. The District Group Rheingau-Hessen-Nassau will grow around the Reserve Group Rheingau-Nassau. Then the district group Giessen was put with the delegate's meeting on 29.06.2005 except service.
